Professor Joshi is interested in combining tools and techniques from engineering, computer science, medicine and neuroscience to study novel human-machine interfaces and robotic systems for a variety of applications. Robotics, Autonomous Systems, and Controls Lab (RASCAL) students come from a variety of graduate groups and departments on campus and work together in a highly interdisciplinary setting to solve complex problems in engineering, medicine and space exploration. These efforts aim to build devices to help people with challenges due to disease, injury and aging, as well as to design new robotic systems that can operate in complex environments.
